Knox County Schools will look different. Here are some things you need to know
Knox County Schools will start on Monday, August 24, with a half-day for students from 8:30 am to 12 noon. L&N and CMA students is from 9:30am to 12:30 pm. If your student will be attending in-person instruction they will need to wear a mask. Transportation will be provided.
WEAR MASKS PROPERLY: There are plenty of ways to make a mask mistake, so we made an instructional video to help students avoid them! Check out the video for details. Thanks to KCS students in advance for wearing a mask to protect students and communities!
KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS will begin on Aug. 25, with staggered days from 7:45 – noon. The first full day for Kindergarten students will be September 8.
Schools will send letters to Kindergarten parents with specific dates for each enrolled child.
Orientation for 6th- and 9th-graders: 8:30am to 12 noon on Thursday, August 20. For students who will attending in-person instruction this fall are invited to an orientation session at their school on . This is an opportunity for students and their parents to meet their teachers, pick up their schedule and get acquainted with their counselors and principals. Transportation is provided, and don’t forget your mask.
NEED CHROMEBOOK TECH HELP? A new Tech Help page with videos and instructional guides for students, parents, guardians, and employees to maximize the benefits of coupling Chromebooks with teacher and parent instruction. The page also includes an option to submit a support ticket. Parents and students are encouraged to participate. Chromebooks enhances teaching and learning for all students, so be sure to take advantage of these support resources.
ATHLETE, SPECTATORS AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL CARE
All coaches, athletes and band members should be screened for signs/symptoms of COVID-19 prior to participation. Screening includes temperature check and screening questions. If at any time the answer to any question becomes “YES,” the individual should promptly inform the

SPECTATOR CARE is also included in the COVID-19 guidelines here. Precautions are in place for a limited number of potential spectators, concessions, ticket sales, and restroom use.
