South Knoxville D-1 Council Seat Up for Grabs
KNOXVILLE, TN (January 15, 2020) – The Knoxville City Council will have a special call meeting at 5:30 pm, Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 in the main assembly room of the City-County Building, 400 Main St., Knoxville. The purpose of the meeting is in pursuant to Section 408 of the Charter of the City of Knoxville, to interview and select a representative to fill the unexpired term of First District City Council member Stephanie Welch.
The deadline to apply is at noon, Monday, February 10.
South Knoxville city council member Stephanie Welch will be resigning in February to accept the position of Chief of Economic and Community Development on the team of newly elected City Mayor Indya Kincannon.
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by current members of City Council in a special call meeting at 5:30 pm, Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. The selected applicant will be administered their oath of office immediately following the meeting to fill the remaining term ending on December 17, 2021.
