Knoxville TN – Judy Walker Porter, 72, departed peacefully, December 24, 2019.
Judy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was passionate about her faith in God with a desire for the Holy Ghost to lead her. She was a lifelong active member of Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB).
Judy was preceded in death by parents; Tommy and Ina Martin Walker; a brother; Tommy F. Walker; brothers-in-law, James Fain, Sr. and Joe Stephens; sister-in-law; Lillie Walker; nephews, Fredrick Fain and Tommy Dwayne Walker along with many other family members.
Left to cherish her memory: sons, Victor L. “Marty” and Travis L. (Zosifel “DheDe”) Porter; granddaughters, Faith and Zoe Porter; sisters, Shirley Stephens, and Denota Fain; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished family and friends to include, Wanda “Bossie” Matthews, Gwendolyn “Cat” Rivers, Derek “DT” Tate, the Anderson, Booker, Hamlett, Harris and Lee families.
The family will receive friends, 11:00- 12:00 noon Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.; Celebration of life 12:00 noon, Pastor Richard S. Brown, Jr., Officiating.
Internment Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
