The U.S. government is the largest purchaser of good and services in the world. To educate and assist entrepreneurs in becoming a client of the U.S. government, the SBA Tennessee District Office has launched Drive 8(a). Drive 8(a) is a regional dedicated to the success of 8(a) firms. The SBA Tennessee District team is committed to recruiting new firms into the 8(a) Business Development Program (including firms located in HubZones, Opportunity Zones, Promise Zones, and minority, veteran, and women-owned small businesses).
Also, we are committed to retaining small businesses who are already accepted into the 8(a) Business Development Program preparing them for further success beyond graduation from the program.
The purpose of the Business Development Academy is to educate small businesses on creating a solid foundation, doing business with the federal government, and provide a forum for the attendees to meet face-to-face with procurement representatives from several different federal agencies.
Come join the SBA team at this one of a kind event. The Academy offers opportunities for one-on-one counseling related to management, marketing, operations, and other business services that meet the needs of entrepreneurs. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with procurement officials and industry officials and meet one-on-one with SBA lenders to discuss financing options. This event is a great chance for entrepreneurs to learn more about government contracting certifications and business development strategies as well as prime contractor performance requirements and how to create an advisory board for your business. Much more information will be covered and may be found by visiting the registration website here.
