KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The patients at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital woke up on Christmas Day to colorfully decorated gift stockings at the foot of their beds, courtesy of employees of MLILY USA. The Knoxville MLILY showroom staff at 11537 Kingston Pike in Farragut, recently had its Christmas party at Zoo Knoxville, which included decorating and stuffing stockings to be given to hospitalized children.
“Being in the hospital is never easy but especially difficult for young children during the holidays. Our team wanted to make this season as special as possible for those children,” said Stephen Chen, president MLILY USA. “Our hope is to brighten a sick child’s day and help bring smiles and a little extra holiday spirit to the children in the hospital this season.”
The company’s 60 corporate employees, along with their family members, in Knoxville and Los Angeles competed in a holiday stocking decorating contest. The stockings were filled with creative children’s play items that might bring some joy and be a pleasant distraction to children spending the holiday in the hospital. Gifts stuffed in the stockings included learning cards, crayons, coloring books, games, stuffed animals and more.
