Two Knoxville Businesses Impacted by the Pandemic Received Comcast Business Grants
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (September 2021) – One of many Comcast Business programs, the “Together Towards Tomorrow” campaign works with local chambers and community partners to identify businesses impacted by the pandemic.
The Comcast Business Knoxville team sought help from Centro Hispano de East Tennessee to identify local businesses owned by native Spanish-speaking Americans that could qualify and benefit from the program.
“The Comcast grant will provide significant aid for Latin small businesses to recuperate from the impacts of the pandemic,” said Claudia Caballero, Centro Hispano’s President and CEO. “We are happy to partner with Comcast and share in the vision of supporting small businesses and building up community staples through initiatives like ‘Together Towards Tomorrow program.’”
The two Knoxville Latin businesses that each received a $5,000 grant from the Comcast Business program are:
- Osmar’s Event Center, a space to host events. Owners Ruben Mato Ventura and Clara Espitia can also provide decorations and assist with organizing gatherings at the center and,
- Inicios 1.2.3 Language Learning Center, owned by Karina Estrada and Nelly Garcia, provides Spanish language courses and insights into the culture of Knoxville’s Latino communities.
“We are proud to support and uplift small businesses who have been impacted by the pandemic in Knoxville,” said Jason Gumbs, Comcast’s Regional SVP. “We are excited to support these businesses and are thankful to Centro Hispano de East Tennessee for partnering in this initiative.” To connect or to learn more, visit Centro Hispano Tn.org.
