Tree Talk: African influence on American Cuisine a Netflix docuseries
Battlefield Farms and Garden’s next “Tree Talk Series” will be at 6 pm, Tuesday, August 10, outside at 3614 Boyds Bridge Pike. Seating and parking are limited. Feel free to bring a lawn chair and carpool if possible.

Tanisha Baker will facilitate the conversation on the Netflix documentary “High on The Hog: How African-American Cuisine Transformed America.” It is suggested that you watch the documentary before attending this event.
Host Chris Battle will have a guest co-host. Femeika Elliott owner of MeikMeals who will display her culinary expertise. Chef Elliott will be treating attendees to a sampling of fresh vegetables she will prepare on-site. Attendees are encouraged to bring a beverage of “choice” to accompany their food, and some to share if you like.
MeikMeals is a specialty meal service offering custom, healthy, affordable, flavorful foods. Elliott is a Knoxville native with Louisiana (Cajun) roots. Catering is available, but Chef Elliott is over-the-top with her prepared individual meals at markets in and around Knoxville, and customized in-home intimate dinners, and dinner parties.
