Real Knoxville Music at Ijams Nature Center great music for a good cause.  Sunday, May 30 from 2-6 pm, four local music groups offer an eclectic afternoon of rock, Americana, and some jazz. Tickets are $15 and are limited to 250. Proceeds will be shared to benefit Averee Young, a local child born with Walker Warburg Muscular Dystrophy. Line up:  Josh Smith (Acoustic Set), The Straggler, Wasted Major, and Nick Horner. Food truck and the Ijams beer garden will be open for your food and drink needs. Do bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show.

Free and open to the public with free Moon Pies and other Tennessee-themed refreshments. 10 am to 3 pm, Tuesday, June 1, Blount Mansion, 200 W. Hill Ave. in downtown Knoxville, is the birthplace of Tennessee. The event will begin with a 1,000 feet procession from James White’s Fort (205 E. Hill Ave.) to Blount Mansion, led by the Watauga Fife & Drum Corps, students from South Knoxville Elementary School, and other living history interpreters in 18th-century attire. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon, and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs will give remarks on this historic occasion.
