The Friends of Literacy is also celebrating a new office at Macedonia Church. They will be giving away books that have been provided by Friends of the Knox County Public Library, Lisa Libraries, and the generous Knox County community. Including books collected by Shoney’s of Knoxville, Trotta Montgomery Real Estate, and Regions Bank.
The primary location of Kickstand Community Bike Shop is at 1323 North Broadway, at the rear of Fourth United Presbyterian Church. That is where donations of and all types of bikes, both children and adults are accepted. Bikes with special value will be evaluated and possibly sold, with the proceeds going directly back into the program to purchase parts, supplies and tools, thus enabling our work to continue. All workers are unpaid volunteers.
For years Kickstand has donated bikes to schools, children’s events, and to homeless persons in need of transportation. To schedule a donation Email: kickstandknoxville@gmail.com
