Ruth Patricia “Pat” Brown, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  Pat, a native of Knoxville, TN, was born to the late Calloway (Calvin) and Daisy R. Johnson on August 8, 1935.  Pat was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1954.  After graduation, she attended Tennessee State University. She was formerly married to Elder James E. Brown, Sr. From this Union they had 2 sons, Mark Antoine Brown and Timothy Lamont Brown. Pat was a spirit-filled woman of God called to preach and witness to those on street corners, the homeless, the lost, and those in need.

Pat was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Anna G. Jackson; her parents, Calloway and Daisy Johnson; sisters, Anna L. Sweeney, Hattie Mae Walker; brother, Aaron (Buddy) Johnson; and son, James E. Brown II.

She leaves to celebrate life her sons, Mark (Chenile) Brown of Nashville, TN, Timothy (Pamela) Brown of Atlanta, GA and Godson, Apostle Jerry (Janice) Upton of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Johnnie M. Johnson of Chattanooga, TN; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; special sister, Jan Bell; special brother, Pastor Harold Smith; adopted daughters, Pam Patrick, Teresa Sackett, Miranda Jenkins, Katherine Upton and Vickie Owens; several devoted nieces and nephews and cousins; special niece, Tina Smith; her Honey Rock family and many other beloved relatives and friends.

Saturday, January 30, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Honey Rock Victorious Church Intl., 4113 Holston Drive, Knoxville, TN.  Social distancing and face coverings are required.  A funeral service to follow for immediate family and close friends.  Interment will take place at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN, where a white dove release will conclude the service.  During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order No. 17 (COVID-19). Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.
