Aspen Dental provides 3,000 Veterans with Free Dental Care on annual Day of Service
More than 500 Aspen Dental Offices across the country opened on November 6 to break down barriers to care on Aspen Dental’s 7th Annual Day of Service provided free dental care to more than 3,000 military veterans and their spouses.

November 11, 2021 (CHICAGO) – On Saturday, November 6, more than 500 Aspen Dental locations opened their doors for the 7th annual Day of Service to provide care to military veterans and their spouses. Nearly 3,000 participants were served a value of more than $1.9 million in free dental services.
“This year’s Day of Service was an incredible success thanks to thegenerosity and commitment of the dentists and teams throughout the Aspen Dental network,” said Dr. Lauren McDonough, vice president of practice owner development for Aspen Dental. “In the last seven years, dentists and teams across Aspen Dental have collectively helped more than 30,000 veterans and military family members, and we’re proud to continue our efforts this year in service to those who served.”
Aspen Dental shares the success of the effort to its caring associates across the country who volunteered to treat the urgent oral care needs of our veterans suffering from oral pain. Rendered services included fillings, extractions, hygiene, denture repairs and additional needed services.
Through the Veteran’s Administration, the U.S. government limits dental care through regulations that disqualify nearly 90% of all living veterans. They must be 100% disabled, they must have medical records to prove a service-related mouth injury, or were a prisoner of war. Most United States veterans are ineligible for dental benefits through the Veterans Administration.
The success of this year’s Day of Service builds on the ongoing impact of Aspen Dental’s Healthy Mouth Movement, a community giving initiative launched in 2014 to deliver free dental care to veterans across the country.
Since the launch of the Healthy Mouth Movement, dentists and their teams from Aspen Dental offices have donated more than $23 million in dentistry services to more than 30,000 veterans and their spouses in need.
