Next meeting of the Sports Authority is scheduled, 9-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at the City of Knoxville Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Ave.

The sixth full meeting of the Sports Authority will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at the City of Knoxville Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Ave.
The stadium, if authorized by the City and County, would be financed, built on property just east of the Old City and managed by the Sports Authority. The stadium would host professional baseball games and soccer matches, as well as concerts, festivals and other public events.
The total economic impact of the stadium and surrounding private development is projected to be nearly $480 million over 30 years.
The estimated cost to the City and County would be $240,000 for each government annually for the first 10 years. At that point, according to the economic impact study, the project has the potential to pay for itself.
