KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (October 20, 2021) – Knox Pride is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Positively Living & Choice Health Network. Choice Health Network will provide HIV testing, prevention, education, and other services at the Community Outreach Center beginning in November 2021.
Cherokee Distributing Company contributed $12,000 that will be used to support East Tennessee’s LGBTQ+ community. Additional contributors include Chip Barry and Travis Pyle ($1,500), South Press Coffee ($3,000), and The Tombras Group ($5,000). These substantial donations are essential and appreciated just as much as the numerous community members who answered the call for non-perishable food items, sanitary products, grooming products, makeup, and household goods which will all be used to benefit the local LGBTQ+ community.
The Knox Pride Community Outreach Center grand opening at 4028 Chapman Highway, in South Knoxville, TN 37920 was earlier this month. It is the first physical location in East Tennessee dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community.
John Camp, Knox Pride president hopes that having a brick-and-mortar location will “strengthen our community and bridge a gap between resources, community engagement, and individuals who need access to more opportunities.”
Knox Pride wants to thank the Knox County community and surrounding areas for their support and hopes that, through continued efforts, the Community Outreach Center will thrive as a hub of resources and support for those who need it most.
Feel free to visit the center during business hours, 10 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday. Ongoing construction by the city of Knoxville obstructs parking at the front. Parking is available upstairs at Family Dollar.
Knox Pride is a 100% volunteer organization. If you are interested in volunteering, making a donation or becoming a community partner, contact John Camp at john@knoxpride.com. To learn more, visit Knoxpride.com or Facebook.
