KCDP Reorganization Convention via ZOOM

The Knox County Democratic Party’s Biennial Reorganization Convention on Saturday, August 21st at 10 a.m has been moved from in-person at the Change Center to a ZOOM event.
Due to the recent rise of the COVID-19 virus Delta strain, KCDP leadership has chosen to protect the health and safety of its volunteer public servants and constituents.

Observers are welcome to attend and watch democracy in action. It is an opportunity to learn and to connect with members of the party.

The ZOOM link to attend will be sent via email. To receive the link send a email to Kellie May at secretary@knoxvilledemocrats.org. Include your name, address, precinct, and phone number. These must be received by noon on August 20th.

The link will open around 9:30 am, no entry will be allowed after 10:30 am. Once the meeting begins no entry will be allowed.

 

To be a voting delegate, register at a meeting in your district prior to the convention; or email jack@knoxvilledemocrats.org to get info on your district’s upcoming meeting. If you are unable to attend meetings in your district prior to reorganization, email info@knoxvilledemocrats.org with your 1) Full name, 2) Voting Address, and 3) contact Phone Number.

KCDP‘s Biennial Reorganization Convention will be Saturday, August 21st at 10 a.m., safely log-in to Zoom to vote as a delegate or to observe as we elect District Representatives and party leadership. .

The KCDP voting members will elect candidates to volunteer positions for the coming 2-year term, August 2021 to August 2023. Email secretary@knoxvilledemocrats.org for more information.

To vote, you must attend your District Reorganization meeting prior to the Reorganization Convention.

The success of the KCDP depends on strong volunteer leaders who represent the goals and values of the party. These volunteers represent districts, precincts, and the county at-large.

The Board of Governors is the governing body of the Knox County Democratic Party. It is comprised of the officers, immediate past chairperson, a male and female representative from each of Knox Counties nine commission districts, and a representative from the Knox County Young Democrats Club, the University of Tennessee College Democrats and the Democratic Women’s Clubs of Knox County.

A representative from the Knox County Labor Unions and a liaison to the Latino Community may also be appointed by the chairperson, with approval by the Board of Governors. View the bylaws of the Knox County Democratic Party here as a PDF file.
