(Oak Ridge, Tenn.) – The Spurgeon Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 100 S Benedict Ave Oak Ridge, TN 37830, will hold a Praise on the Lawn event this Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Spurgeon Chapel A.M.E.Zion Church, 100 Benedict Avenue.
This is the first of many events planned to unify the community. Water and light snacks will also be provided. Please bring lawn chairs as the event is outside on the lawn. Social distancing and face masks are required. Spurgeon Chapel will comply with CDC guidelines.
The program will include performances by Leroy and Cynthia Sims, Cassandra Anthony, Richie and the Clouds of Faith, and the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church.
Na’Tayla Kirk will provide a mime performance, additional participants are being confirmed. Rev. Darius Waters, True Light Baptist Church; Elder Watson of Mt. Zion Baptist Church; and Rev. Derrick Hammond, Oak Valley Baptist Church will provide words of encouragement.
The Singles Ministry sets actions to the command “love your neighbor,” by addressing needs in the community. The ministry provides assistance and connections to available services to those in need in pursuit of Christ’s commandments to love and care for our neighbor, said Gail Walker, President of Spurgeon Chapel Single’s Ministry.
The Rev Churchill Moore, Sr. is the pastor of Spurgeon Chapel A. M.E. Zion Church where friends and neighbors unite through brotherly love.
Sunday School – 9 am, Sunday Service – 10:30 am.
