“Uniting the World in Faith” is the theme of Jehovah’s Witness Virtual Global Event in 240 Lands and, in more than 500 Languages
KNOXVILLE, TN (June 24, 2021) – Since the late-1990s, the Tri-Cities Freedom Hall in Johnson City has hosted the Jehovah’s Witness annual convention. Hotels, restaurants, attractions, and venues in the Smokies, Oak Ridge, Knoxville and the East Tennessee area have welcomed attendees and their support during the 3-day summer convention.
In 2020, a global pandemic unexpectedly interrupted a decades-long tradition. The international religious organization canceled in-person conventions throughout the world and launch a virtual global event. This was a first for Jehovah’s Witnesses, who have held public conventions in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and theaters around the world since 1897.
“Powerful by Faith!” is the theme of the 2021 global event that will be shared virtually to more than 15-20 million people in 240 countries in more than 500 languages to households across the globe over six weekends in July through August 2021.
The virtual/online sessions will be available in six installments from June 28- August 7, 2021, with morning and afternoon sessions. The sessions will be available to stream or download beginning June 28, 2021.
Conventions are the highlight of summer for Joey Guy and his family. His wife Amanda expressed that, those three days were packed with a refreshing gain of spiritual knowledge and practical advice for everyday living and quality family time. We want to keep the Johnson City community safe by attending the convention virtually this year. The Guys will attend the “Powerful by Faith!” event from their home in Bean Station, Tennessee.
The continuing risks of bringing thousands of people together in cities around the world prompted the organization to opt for a virtual platform for a second year. However, it has not curbed enthusiasm for the event. Congregations around the world invite the public to join them on this historic occasion.
“Faith has helped our global brotherhood to continue to thrive even during a pandemic,” said Robert Hendriks on behalf of Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Our faith will continue to unite us in worship – even virtually – as millions gather in private homes around the world to enjoy a powerful and inspiring spiritual program.”
All are invited to attend the event; go to, JW.ORG, the JW Broadcast on the free JW Library iOs or Android App, or on streaming platforms like ROKU TV, Apple TV, and others. The program is free and accessible to all. The schedule for download and global streaming is listed below.
