KNOX COUNTY SCHOOLS May 2021 Round up

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS MAY 25

It’s been a school year like no other, and we are so grateful for the students, families and employees whose patience, commitment and hard work made it all possible. The last day of the school year is a half-day on Tuesday, May 25. We look forward to seeing students back in class next year.

Graduation Ceremonies To Be At High Schools

Because of the ongoing impact of COVID-19, we have decided to host in-person graduation ceremonies at our high school campuses, as we did last year. In most cases, these ceremonies will be held on each school’s football field, and the overall schedule can be found at this link.

Graduation ceremonies will be held on May 27 and June 1-8, avoiding Memorial Day weekend. Rain dates will be scheduled on June 10-12. Each graduate will be provided tickets for up to six guests and ceremonies will also be live-streamed, with archived videos available for viewing later. COVID-19 protocols will remain in place, including limited capacity, social distancing, and face-covering requirements.

District Offers Free, Online ACT Prep Course

Knox County Schools will offer a free, online ACT Preparatory Course this summer to help students prepare for the July 17 ACT test.

Rising 11th- and 12th-grade students may register for this five-week course, which will be held June 14 – July 16. Registration is now open and will close at noon on Sunday, June 6. Please see the parent letter and flyer below for more information and registration instructions.

No-Cost Meals To Continue In 2021-22

We are pleased to announce that all students will continue to receive breakfast and lunch meals at no cost during the 2021-22 school year!

This program was made possible by new flexibilities from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and we are grateful for the chance to continue supporting students and families next school year.
