KNOXVILLE, TENN. – Elnora Sutton entered peaceful rest on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was the only daughter born to Norman Sutton, Sr. and Lillian Sutton. She entered this life on March 12, 1938, in Washington, Georgia. She was of the Christian faith.
She loved to cook, decorate, and travel. A natural caregiver, she used her skills to care for and nurture others for many years. It was her passion!
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norman Sutton, Jr.; aunt, Rosa Reid, and cousin/aunt, Laura (Doll) Robinson.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Marshall and Reginald Sutton; grandchildren, Michael (Erica) Cowan, Nashville, and Reginald (Lorinda) Cowan, Berea, KY, Stephanie R. Jack, Knoxville, Taniyka (Terry) Davis, Atlanta, GA, Courtney B., Dallas, TX, Dyanunhdre E., Knoxville and El’lashia R. Sutton, Kingsland, GA; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; very devoted best friends, Gracie Petty, Houston, TX and Shirley Bivens, Boston, MA; family friends, Gene Jones and Patricia Settles; loving cousins, Benson, Robinson, Coleman, Reid and Swanson families.
A special thank you to her caregivers from Encompass and SCI Healthcare Services. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Fort Sanders Hospital, Summit View of Farragut Nursing Home and many other family and friends too numerous to name.
Saturday, April 3, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 12 to 2 p.m. at Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A graveside service will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, 2400 Berry Road, Knoxville, TN, with Elder Brenda Robinson as the eulogist. A white dove release will conclude the service.
During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order No. 17 (COVID-19). Flowers may be delivered to the church the afternoon of the walkthrough.
