SFC William Don Wykle, Jr. peacefully transitioned on March 2, 2021 at his home. He was born March 28, 1945 to William Sr. and Corine Jones Wykle in Knoxville, Tennessee. William graduated from Austin High School, class of 1963. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army with 23 years of service. He retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of exemplary service. William was a faithful Life-member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. As a man of faith, he could not be contained! He served on the kitchen committee, the Singles Ministry and was in charge of the annual church picnic; which he was most proud of. He was passionate about the cause of Christ as well as his love of family and friends.
William enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. His larger than life personality and generosity took him places only few could go physically and spiritually. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Preceded in death by his wife, Janice K. Wykle; parents; sister, Addie Mae Watts and brother, Edward Wykle Sr.
William leaves to cherish his memory: son, Patrick Barnes of North Carolina; daughter, Amanda (Cheko) Waters of Germany; stepson, Zahn Ealey of Texas; grandchildren, Olivia Barnes of North Carolina and Jelessa Ealey; great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy (Philander) Wykle; sister-in-law, Patricia Wykle of Georgia; best friend, Michael Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
