Samuel E. O’Neal, age 62
KNOXVILLE, TN – Samuel E. O’Neal went home to be with the Lord, December 24, 2020. He was the youngest son of seven brothers and sisters born, February 20, 1958 to the late Alzonia and Alonzo O’Neal. In addition to his parents there to welcome him into eternity are brothers, William “Soulful”, Ray and Aubrey “Blue” O’Neal.
His devotion to Christ and generous spirit will truly be missed. He was a longtime member of Redemption Church. He was a US Army Veteran honorably discharged in 1982. He had over 25 years of railroad service, most recently at Norfolk Southern as an engineer.
He was a master conversationalist who never met a stranger. He delighted in making you laugh by cracking jokes and doing impressions of characters/people. He loved bass fishing, playing basketball and restoring vintage Chevrolet Camaros and trucks.
Sam is survived by his 1969 vintage Chevrolet Camaro, loving wife, Pamela King O’Neal; daughter, Fantashia O’Neal; grandchild, Chanel Clark; nephew that was like a son, Caleb O’Neal; siblings, JoAnne (Carl) Winton, Howard (Georgiana) O’Neal and Deborah (Jeffery) Perry; cousins, Loretta and Lamar Parks and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and long time friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Thompson Oncology Group and Covenant Hospice for their service and care.
