Harry O. Clemons Upshaw (age 44)
KNOXVILLE, TN – Harry Olando Jermaine Clemons Upshaw, age 44, departed this life on January 6, 2021. He was born December 13, 1976, to Harry Upshaw and Kim Clemons in Knoxville, TN. He entered this world at 3 pounds and 7 ounces (literally a handful) but grew to be a strong young man over time. At the tender age of 5, he became very active in sports. As a young boy, he was always very charismatic and friendly. Harry O. never met a stranger. Of course, as a child grows up and becomes curious about people, places and things; he chooses to navigate his way through life on his own terms.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Marjorie Clemons, Betty Upshaw and Allen McGee; uncles, James Bowman, Larry Upshaw and Daral Clemons; aunt, Hornetta Upshaw; cousin, Esley Clemons, Jr.; niece, DeShauntay Murphy.
Left to cherish his memory: children, Aeriyuanna Jones, Ka’Nyree Gordon, Jabarie Curry and Aayan Gillis; mother, Kim Clemons Moss; father, Harry “Chili Man” Upshaw; brothers, DeShawn “Chris” Clemons, Stefan (Demetra) Vonner and DeMarcus Smith; sister, Takiela Bone; nephews, Chris Jr., CJ, DeMarcus Jr., Stefan Jr., and Harlum; nieces, Shafan, Chris Shay, Eliza and Khani.; aunts, Boundra Bowman, Vanessa Teasley, Jennie Clemons, Roberta Upshaw, Brenda (Moziano) Reliford, Robin Upshaw and Sharon Upshaw; uncles, Herbert Clemons, Esley Clemons, Sr. and Darren (Mary Beth) Upshaw; devoted family and friends to include Ms. Vick, Keta Howard, Keeva Clemons, Granny Sewell, devoted cousins, Darren Campbell Clemons, Grady Chandler and Jamarius Dixon, the McGhee, Buford, Carter, Howard, Mack and Branner families.
Saturday, January 16, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A graveside service will follow at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN, where a white dove release will conclude the service. During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order No. 17 (COVID-19).
