BCDP 2021 INAUGURATION PARTY
BLOUNT COUNTY (January 5, 2021) – It’s been a tough year. We mourn the loss of so many friends and family members to Covid. It’s been agonizing to bear witness to the fragility of our democracy. Here in our corner of the world we are not immune. People face racial injustices, struggle with homelessness and poverty, battle opioid addiction.
But we ring in 2021 with a renewed sense of hope. In November 2020, people voted for change and voted for democracy. With President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris we see not a call to arms but a will to navigate, not a balm of placation, but an unwavering promise to do what is right and good for all Americans. We welcome growth but let’s usher it in with smart policies. We are for principled progress.
In the coming days we will be reaching out to you for your thoughts on where we should put our energies. We will be asking for your help. It will take all of us working together to bring better days.
