Alma Hortense Bibbs (age 100)
KNOXVILLE, TN – Alma (Granny) Hortense Bibbs, age 100, passed away, at her residence, January 1, 2021. She was born October 11, 1920 in Whitesburg, Tennessee. She was a retiree of St. Mary’s Hospital and a member of Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Jo Dalton, mother Dora Armstrong; sister, Willadean Dalton; grandchildren, Charles and Martin Dalton and great-granddaughter, Marrisa Dalton.
Alma is survived by granddaughters, LaRoyce, Sharon, Pamela and Joyce Dalton; great-grandchildren Dameon Andrews, Jekemian Wykle, Janika Blair, Niesha Dalton, William Chandler and Te’Asia Andrews; great-great-grandchildren Makyia Wykle, Tylan Williams, Jyshon Forbes and Za’Khi Chandler; niece Gwendolyn Kelso and very devoted cousin Paula Newton as well as the Armstrong, Fears, Dalton, Andrews, Wykle, Blair, Phifer, Manning and Dirl Families.
The family would like to express gratitude to her caregiver, Melissa Adee of Always Caring Health Care Services.
Family and Friends will assemble at 1429 Patricia Circle, Knoxville, TN 37914.
The family will receive friends, 12:30-1 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Jarnigan’s Chapel; funeral service, 1:00 p.m.
