Knoxville – Paul J. Gallaher, age 69 of Knoxville, born, March 19, 1951, departed this life, December 14, 2020.
Member of Goode’s Temple AMEZ Church, Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, and in recent years he also attended, Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church, Knoxville, TN.
Paul retired from Norfolk Southern Railway.
He attended Nelson Merry High School in Jefferson City, Tennessee and graduated from Rush Strong School in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee.
Paul was an avid music lover, who also enjoyed dining out, going to the beach, shopping, and traveling. He had a dearly devoted love for his family and friends, whom he checked on frequently.
Preceded in death by parents, John W. Gallaher and Argentina M. Gallaher; infant brother, John Jr., and sister, Janet Brown.
Paul is survived by sisters, Rosella Thompson, Wilhelmina Miller, Rev. Bernice G. Osborne, Gail Gallaher; brother, George E. Thompson; nephews, Claude (Elaine) Thompson, Marvin (Patricia) Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Richard Thompson, and James Styles; nieces, Mia Nickens, Silver Spring, MD; Angela (Raymond) Andrews, Steneka Moore, and very devoted niece, Evonne Renee Miller; several great-nephews to include devoted great-nephew, Justin Jones; nieces and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends, 4-4:30 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Jarnigan’s Chapel; Celebration of Life, 4:30 p.m., Words of Comfort, Rev. Bernice Osborne.
