The hospitality and restaurant industry is among those hardest hit by current conditions. Former and longtime restauranteur W. Grady Regas, of the Regas Restaurant fame, is offering guidance from his years of experience to those in the Hospitality and Tourism Profession.
“This is a most challenging time to be in the hospitality and tourism industry. Those who have been in the hotel, restaurant or tourist attraction business are faced with considerably more variables and unknown factors as strategic future plans are created, committed to and implemented. I am delighted that I am available to assist hospitality business owners in the process of preserving or growing their American Dream. It is a great opportunity for all involved to take advantage of The C.A.R.E.S. Act ( Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ) to collaborate with someone who desires to help our region and individual business owners.
The strategic decisions awaiting are important. Ideally, 100% of the business owners of the subject business will be able to participate in the conversations that will lead to the most optimal choices given the set of unique circumstances presented.
I am a member of a men’s Proverbs Study Group which meets on Tuesdays. Proverbs is a book about wisdom. I believe our teacher to be a wise man. Confronted with the current, rapidly-changing environment, our teacher shared an acronym to help assist in attaining peace of mind about the decisions that need to be made and discovering joy in implementing the agreed-upon plan. The intention which drives my contribution to those who choose to accept it, is to utilize this formula as future plans are evaluated and selected. This approach will apply to those considering entering the industry or for those who desire creatively making the best of the current reality. Below is the word and acronym:
A.D.A.P.T
- A- ANALYZE the situation, ASSESS the alternatives & ASK God for help
- D- DETERMINE the best plan and DESIGN the best response solution
- A- ACCEPT the new reality
- P- PRAY and stay POSITIVE
- T- TRUST that GOD is in control
Should you feel you need some help in adapting to our region’s new reality. Give your Small Business Development Center a call. We can help and would love to help YOU.” – W. Grady Regas
