Kevin Lane, age 55
KNOXVILLE, TN – Kevin Vernard Lane “Tweety,” was born Sunday, June 6, 1965, in Knoxville, he expired on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Trousdale Medical Center, Hartsville, TN.
He attended Sarah Moore Greene Elementary, Powell Middle and High Schools where he played basketball before transferring to Fulton High School. After high school, he attended Knoxville Business College with a concentration in Hospitality, Food, and Beverage Operations.
Kevin enjoyed drawing especially with charcoal and colored pencils. He made beautiful handmade cards and decorative envelopes. Kevin had a great love for the game of basketball, yet was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. “Bobby” Lane, Jr.; grandparents, Robert C. Sr. and Armanda Lane and Robert L. and Annie B. Kindrell Patton.
He is survived by mother, Gloria K. Lane; brother, Keith R. Lane; sisters, Pamela Timmons of Dallas, TX and Angela McAfee of Knoxville, TN; aunts, Anne L. Mayfield of Chattanooga, TN, Patricia L. Cannon of Atlanta, GA and Shirley K. Frey of Louisville, KY; uncles, Jack Lane of Chattanooga, TN, and David M. Kindrell of Atlanta, GA; cousins, Melvinor Atta Acqua, Sean L. Mayfield, Jacqueline L. Cochran of Chattanooga, TN, Anita Lane of North Carolina, Daryl Jerome Lane, Lisa C. Williams of Atlanta, GA, Carla Frey, Sherry Kindrell, both of Knoxville, TN, Michelle K. Cobb of Silver Spring, MD, Stokely (Donald) Kindrell of Kailua, HI and Jeri Grant of Hollywood, FL.
Tuesday, December 29, 2020, a graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. at Highland South Cemetery, 9010 W. Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN., Reverend Jessie L. Williams, eulogist. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A white dove release will conclude the service. During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order #17 (COVID-19).
