Helen Louvenia Phelps (age 96)
Helen Louvenia Phelps, age 96 was born October 27, 1924 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. She transitioned into the gates of heaven, December 13, 2020 where she was greeted by Jesus, her mother, Geneva Trent, her husband AJ Phelps, brother Gaines Lenoir Sr., daughters Betty Bryant and Judy Hall, and great-granddaughter Lacey King.
She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for 81 years. She will be deeply missed by brother, James Upton (Joy); Son, Jeffrey Phelps; grandchildren, Richard Cade, Toni Cade, Larry Cade, Stacy King, Brandon Phelps, Alexis Phelps and Emmanuel Nance.
She had twelve great-grandchildren, with the oldest being, Tasha Cade whom she cherished. Nieces; Kimberly Upton and Brenda Bailey, other relatives and friends.
We would like to thank the many gracious caregivers who devoted their time to care. Mrs. Phelps will lie-in-repose on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow with Rev. Jesse L. Williams, Sr. officiating. The final resting place will be at Berry Highland (Sutherland) Cemetery.
