COVID and the Community: Roundtable with local legislators and hospital professionals

Four local legislators will meet with Knoxville hospital partners on Wednesday, December, 16th, to discuss the local impact of COVID-19.

KNOXVILLE, TN (December 13, 2020) – “COVID and the Community – Our Next Steps Together” is set to be a roundtable discussion between local legislators and medical professionals.

Local medical professionals will share current COVID-19 information and its impact on area hospitals, and actions for the community to take to help reduce the spread. Those attending include:

  • State Senator (R) Dr. Richard Briggs
  • County Commission Chair (R) Larsen Jay
  • Knoxville Vice Mayor (D) Gwen McKenzie
  • Farragut Vice Mayor (R) Louise Povlin
  • Dr. John Adams – Infectious Disease Physician, Covenant Health
  • Dr. Frank Beuerlein – CMO/CQO, Tennova Healthcare
  • Dr. Mark Browne – SVP & CMO, Covenant Health
  • Dr. Joe Childs – CMO, East TN Children’s Hospital
  • Dr. Keith Gray – SVP & CMO UT Medical Center
  • Dr. Mark Rasnake – Hospital Epidemiologist & Infectious Disease Physician – UT Medical Center
  • Dr. James Shamiyeh – SVP & CQO – UT Medical Center
