Sophia Morris (age 49)
Sophia Olivia Morris, born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio, departed this life on November 10, 2020 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.
As an adult, she relocated to her mother’s hometown of Knoxville Tennessee to raise her four children. Sophia loved her family and was the glue that held everyone together. She had a great love for music, singing and dancing. Sophia was the Executive Manager of Housekeeping at the Holiday Inn Suites. She took pride in any and everything she did.
She will be fondly remembered for always opening her home to anyone in need without question. She gave of herself so unselfishly, loving with no conditions and expecting nothing in return.
Preceded in death by a son, Dmitri Morris; father Lorenza Morris; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Thelma Morris; maternal grandparents, Charles and Minnie K Johnson.
Survived by sons, Desmond Holland and Michael Thompson, Jr.; daughter, Kori Holland; 8 grandchildren; mother, Bennie Joyce Johnson; brothers, Anthony Johnson and Lorenzo Morris, Jr.; sisters, Darlene Jones, Renda McElroy, Gena Miles Morris, Dawn Hall and Alexis Chambers; 9 nieces; 12 nephews; fathers of children and devoted friends, Cory Holland, Michael Thompson, Sr. and Jeff Daniels.
Saturday, November 21, 2020, a public walkthrough from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Open Door Church, 2806 Sherman Street, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A funeral service to follow for immediate family and close friends. Pastor Steve Simpson will officiate.
