Tennessee is in Trouble

Six days away from the August 6 election and Tennessee is in trouble. Our public schools are underfunded, people are being incarcerated on a massive scale, hospitals are closing, and our climate is in crisis.
I’m running for the Tennessee State House of Representatives in District 15 as the progressive Democrat to bring real solutions to these problems. I am no stranger to managing crucial conversations and building effective relationships with other leaders.
I’ve seen the issues with our healthcare system first hand, first, while I served our community as an EMT on an ambulance and in a children’s hospital. Then, I spent a decade working on technology to reduce healthcare costs via my profession as a Cloud Architect. See our Healthcare Policy→
Tennessee needs to end money bail and mass incarceration. My little brother is a victim of the school-to-prison pipeline, and I have seen the injustice first hand. See our Criminal Justice Transformation policy→
We need to transform policing and move money to programs that benefit our communities. See our Police Transformation Policy→
Our movement is fighting to fully fund public schools, end mass incarceration and money bail, expand healthcare coverage and access, and pass a Tennessee Green New Deal.
I’m tired of seeing Tennessee’s government commit to nothing but holding the line of mediocrity, and I know you are too. This movement is not about me. It is about having the courage to pursue a better Tennessee. Will you join us?
Solidarity, Matthew
