Makeda T. Nevels (age 30)

KNOXVILLE, TN – On August 7, 2020, the Lord called home one of His angels, Makeda Tiye Nevels. Makeda was a graduate of Austin-East High School, Class of 2007.  She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Tennova and as a Baker at Flowers Baking Company and ABM.

She was a wonderful, devoted, and loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.  She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and compassion to everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Iriana Michelle Holmes and father, Michael White.

Survived by her beautiful children, Iyiana and King Holmes; father of children, Reggie Holmes; mother, Gail Nevels Padgett; brothers, Jim and Mickell Nevels; nephew, Davontae Nevels; niece, Malia Nevels; grandparents, Lawrence and Vernita Nevels; aunts, Daphne, Mia, Cynthia Nevels uncle, Lawrence Muhammad; cousins, Marc Spight, Joy, Jasmine, Ebony, Jaquan, Jamaree and Armani Nevels.

Thursday, August 20, 2020, a Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Park – Marble Hall, 6410 S.
