Ronald G Arnold (age 67)

Ronald (Ronnie) G. Arnold Sr. transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, June 29, 2020. He was born in Sheffield, Ala., on March 20, 1953, to father Durie Arnold, who preceded him in death; and mother Claudia Vaughn Arnold. Ronald was the oldest of six siblings.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallie and Marie Arnold, Katie Jackson and James Vaughn; his aunt, Fannie “Auntie” Murphy; his uncles: Edward “Cherry” Murphy, Jake Vaughn, Robert Chester Arnold, and Ovell “Bubba” Arnold.

He accepted Christ at an early age. On Sept. 18, 1982, Ronald and Nepsie Johnson
Arnold were united in holy matrimony and had three children.

Ronnie graduated from Sheffield High School in Sheffield, Ala. He later enlisted in
the United States military, serving in the Navy, which he loved, from 1973 to 1977.

He was an Elder at Saint James Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America, and was a loyal member of the 100 Black Men of Bradley County, where he served as the chapter’s president for two years. Education was important to him, and being a part of the 100 Black Men mentoring program brought Ronnie such joy.

After serving over 35 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), he retired and enjoyed serving his church and community. Every election season, he was a volunteer at a local voting poll location(s). Ronnie was an exceptionally kind, considerate and loving man.
