Peaceful Rally in Blount County Sunday

Rally: “Let Justice Ring” Sunday, June 7, 6-7 pm; Assembly at the MLK Center in Alcoa at 5 pm.

The Alcoa Blount County NAACP in partnership with Blount County United and community churches in our “Let Justice Ring Rally” on Sunday, June 7 at 6 pm at the Blount County Courthouse. The march to the courthouse from the MLK Center in Alcoa departs at 5:30 p.m. to the Blount County Courthouse (if you cannot walk, meet at the courthouse). You are free to bring appropriate signs. We will wear masks and provide masks for those who may not have one and as much as possible practice social distancing. There will be praying, singing, readings and speaking. NAACP

  • For those joining the march at its beginning, see the various places listed to park.
  • For those who cannot march but want to attend, please park in one of the lots near the Courthouse and bring a chair to the area in front of the Courthouse.
  • For those who want to march partway, feel free to park around the Courthouse and then walk to join the march on Hall Road in Alcoa.
  • For those who are self-isolating but want to show support, consider driving the march route once or twice and honking your horn in support of the marchers.
