Nathaniel James Jennings, Jr. (age 60)

He was a graduate of Sparta Senior High School of Sparta, Wisconsin. He lived in Wisconsin, Detroit, and Germany. Upon his return to Tennessee, he took up the trade of cosmetology and has been a hairstylist since 1982. James grew in his trade through the Jennings Family Hair Care in Jefferson City, and At Great Lengths, Simply Diana’s House of Style, and at Bates Barber & Beauty (all in Knoxville), where he last served. After becoming ill in the past 2-years, James worked as much as he could. In his spare time, he had a passion for drawing.
He was a former member of Divine Temple Church of God in Christ in Greeneville, Tennessee, where he was baptized and a member of the church choir. James was also a phenomenal cook and griller. He was well-known for barbequing at Ole Time Saturday in Jefferson City and Old School Party in Morristown.
His father Nathaniel James Jennings, Sr. recently preceded him in death in January of this year. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Eddie, Kayla, Shireena (Jeremy) and Jovon (friend Mauricia); grandchildren: Jailynn, Jaliyah and Joliana; mother, Christine; brothers: Jarvis (friend Kelly), Jeffery (Mattie), Jerome (Dicey), Joey and Johnny (Lisa); and a host of relatives and friends, including special friend Tonia Jennings.
Mr. Jennings will lie in repose on Friday, April 3, 2020 from 1-6 PM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, 1425 McCalla Avenue, Knoxville. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at a later date. Final arrangements are entrusted with integrity by Unity Mortuary.
