NATIONWIDE (April 2020) – The annual ACA open enrollment period enables insurers to offer sunscribers a better rate based on the volume of enrollees. The more that apply, the better rate that can be offered.
It is also the open window for the uninsured to be subsidized. After the open enrollment period, your rate will be higher, unless there has been a change in your status such as: a loss in income, loosing a job that included health insurance, a disallusion of a marriage, are some examples.
But enrollment in the ACA is never closed. You can enroll at any time.
Especially during this time of COVID-19. The loss of your job/income and health insurance is a reason for you to apply. Under these and other conditions, you can be processed with the same advatages granted during open enrollment.
