KNOXVILLE, TN – This week, Congressional Candidate Renee Hoyos received the endorsement of the National Women’s Political Caucus in her bid for Tennessee’s Second Congressional District.
Founded by Gloria Steinem, Shirley Chisholm, Fannie Lou Hamer, and others in 1971, the National Women’s Political Caucus is the only national organization dedicated to increasing women’s participation in all areas of political and public life, according to their website.
“Truly, it is an honor to have their support and to walk in the footsteps of these pioneering women,” Hoyos said. “East Tennesseans deserve a representative that will fight for them, regardless of their gender, race, class, or sexual preference. In Congress, I’ll do just that.”
