Buy a Share of a Local Farm for Fresh Produce All Season

The Winter Farmers’ Market, in the Historic 4th and Gill neighborhood, will host farm & food vendors selling pasture-raised meats, eggs, winter produce, honey, baked goods, artisan foods, and more. Outside, food trucks will be serving up lunch from locally-sourced ingredients.

We’ll offer a Power of Produce (PoP) Club Children’s Activity at every Winter Farmers’ Market! PoP Club Activities: Children 2 years to 12 years old are invited to participate in the PoP Club activity at each of our 8 markets. Each PoP Club will offer local produce to taste, a food-related activity or craft and PoP Bucks for kids to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables at market. Please remember, all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Remaining 2020 Winter markets are at 10 am-2 pm on March 7 & 21, and April 4 & 18.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way to support local farms while also getting a share of the farm’s products. In a typical model, a CSA member buys a “share” of the farm at the beginning of the season, then receives a portion of the harvest at set intervals throughout the season. This is great for the farmers because they get revenue when they most need it to get ready for the growing season, literal seed money!

Today, there are many different ways to manage and be part of a CSA. CSA shares come in different sizes (half-share, whole-share) and different frequencies (weekly, biweekly) to accommodate different household preferences. Some farmers offer add-ons like eggs, meat, bread, or flowers. In some models, members can pick and choose what they want. Some CSAs more closely resemble buying clubs, where the members pay every month until they cancel.
