Family Friendly Child Events through Feb. 9, 2020

TEDDY BEARS FOR ABUSED & DISPLACED CHILDREN; Pellissippi State Community College Division St. Campus, 3435 Division St.; will be accepting donations of only new stuffed animals (with tags) 7:30 am-9 pm weekdays through the month of February. The PSTCC Division Street campus is the drop-off point for the month of February 1-27. Donations of only brand new stuffed animals with the tags attached for abused and displaced children in the Knoxville Juvenile Court system.

PaperArt: Valentine Hearts, Burlington Branch Library, 4614 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville; Thur., Feb. 6 at 5:30 pm-8 pm. Seasoned paper artist, Susan Bernard, will demonstrate folding old book pages into Valentine hearts, and making heart garland. All materials provided. Ages 13 & up. Space limited. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY, 7

 Father-Daughter Valentine Dance, Cokesbury Church Knoxville, 9915 Kingston Pk, Knoxville; Fri., Feb. 7 at 7 pm-9 pm. For fathers and father-figures and their daughters of all ages, our dance features fun music, snacks (including gluten free options!), a photo booth, and the option to purchase professional portraits. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at the church office, or at the door. Proceeds benefit Cokesbury’s Global Missions programs.

Monsters Made With Love: 123 W. Jackson Ave., Knoxville; Fri., Feb. 7 at 5 -8 pm. Dogwood Arts opening of Monsters Made with Love, an exhibition of ‘perfectly imperfect monsters’ curated by local artist Laurie Kay. The exhibition includes 30 local artists whose fleece monsters are paired with a unique piece of art in various styles and mediums.

Burlington LEGO Club, Burlington Branch Library, 4614 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville.. Fri., Feb. 7 at 3:30 pm-5 pm, and Mon., Feb. 24 at 6 pm-8 pm; free for children ages 4-12. The Lego Club meets first Fridays at 3:30 PM and also last Mondays at 6 PM. LEGO bricks and a building theme provided. Registration not required. FREE! Lego creations will go in the display case for a month.

Valentine’s Stories & Crafts, Cedar Bluff Branch Library, Fri., Feb 7 at 3 pm-4 pm. Join us for Valentine’s stories and create your own Valentine cards and mailboxes. Snacks provided.

Health and Fitness Skate Night, Change Center, 203 Harriet Tubman St., Knoxville, Fri., Feb. 7 at 6 -10 pm. Come skate for just $5 (all ages).Representatives from the health and fitness industry sharing information in a night of fellowship and community. Booths from South Landing CrossFit, Clean Eatz, Nekter Juice Bar, 4George, Ca-L’a Fitness, Balanced You Massage and Patty Yoga, and more!

The “Rolling” 20’s Reunion Skate hosted by Roll Arena Party Zone Maryville, 2801 E Broadway Ave., Maryville, Sat., Feb. 8 at 7-11 pm. Let the good times ROLL! Skaters young and old celebrating the ROLLING 20’s Reunion Skate down memory lane; finishing with a 1- hour jam session.

 Mother & Son Laser Tag, Clinton High School Multi-Sports Complex, 141 E. Broad St., Clinton, Sat., Feb., 8 at 6 pm-8 pm. Hosted by The Education Foundation for Clinton City & Anderson County Schools. Tickets available at www.theeducationfoundation.info. Proceeds from the event will support enrichment programs within both school districts.

Always More Love Storytime, Barnes & Noble, 8029 Kingston Pk., Knoxville; Sat., Feb. 8 at 11 am-12 pm. “Always More Love” by Erin Guendelsberger is an ooey-gooey picture book to make sure in this season of love, your little one knows there is plenty for them. Join us every Saturday at 11am for lots more of PERFECT books.

There will be supplies to make paper hearts and glittery stickers need to make a sweet cards. Plus games, activities, and chocolate samples to make the day extra special!

Winter Family Fun Day, Knoxville Museum of Art, 1050 World’s Fair Park Dr. SW, Knoxville; Sat., Feb. 8 at 11 am-3 pm. A day of family fun-filled with art activities, artist demonstrations, door prizes, face painting, food for purchase, and more. FREE and open to the public!

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY, 9

 Second Sunday Art and Activity, Knoxville Museum of Art, 1050 World’s Fair Park Dr. SW, Knoxville; Sun., Feb. 9 at 1-4 pm. FREE. Children grades K-6 are invited for hands-on art activities taught by a certified art teacher. Inspired by the works of Beauford Delaney, we will be creating postcards using an experimental painting technique of vinegar and baking soda! 

YOUTH SKATE NIGHT FREE AT CHANGE CENTER, 203 Harriet Tubman St., Knoxville; 4 to 7pm on the fourth Sunday monthly, free and open to all middle and high school students.
