The Knoxville East Lions Club has conducted KidSight vision screenings at Sarah Moore Greene School in East Knoxville. About 200 children had a vision impairment. All could have gotten glasses but only half of the parents consented or returned the application.

Lions Clubs of East Tennessee has provided eyeglasses to youth, seniors, and others with financial limitations. Club members conduct free KidSight vision screenings in schools, among other locations to identify those in need. With an application and parental consent, eyeglasses are issued at little to no cost.

Where there is a need there is a Lion, “We Serve” with a mighty roar. The Lions’ mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.
