REVIEW: Ford v Ferarri – Race off to see it

By Jered Croom

There are few things more iconic than the automobile and even fewer names more sacred than Ford and Ferrari.  This film captures a glimpse into their rivalry over a coveted race, the 24-hour Le Mans that put both car and driver to the ultimate tests – form and skill. Matt Damon plays the legendary sports car designer Carroll Shelby who is a pivotal cog in assembling the Ford GT40 and a first-class race team. The 4DX experience is like no other. You might find yourself at the edge of your seat as it vibrates to the revving of the engines. But don’t stay there or you will miss a full-body immersion into the cinematic world on the screen. The speeds reached during the races are well over 200 mph and you can not help but feel the excitement as you take a hairpin turn in your luxury 4DX seat.

The film is based on the true story of the rivalry between Henry Ford II and Italian sports car magnate Enzo Ferarri during the 1960s. The blistering action intertwines with tenacity, spirit, and relationships. The tenacity of a laser-focused driver and mechanic Ken Miles (played by Christian Bale) and his relationships with his wife, his son, his friend, and corporate America. I recommend this film if you like the beautiful combination of heart and action. Race out and see it.

This Disney and 20th Century Fox Film is 2-hr 32-mins and is Rated PG-13.
