HAPPINESS: A Choice That Requires Effort

Dr. Ron Brown, Physocholgist, PhD

Your happiness is under attack! It plays an important role in your physical health and well-being. There are doctors – physical and mental. Sometimes we just need help.

By Patricia Williams

Life wasn’t as difficult back in the day, according to some of our elders. In times of emotional trauma, support came from family and faith, an important, and solid resource.

To this day we continue to cope with many of the same ills combined with the unthinkable traumas of the current day. As it was in the past and continues to this day – We need help!

With these insights, the East Tennessee Enlightener will offer contributions from local therapists, psychologist, and psychiatrist to our Health and Happiness page. Please take advantage of the resources that will be made available, in the privacy of your own phone/home.

There are few, and possibly no members of society who have not been impacted or endured a life-altering negative trauma – from the youngest to the oldest, exclusive of creed or social standing.

Society has grown to accept and is encouraged to seek professional help when needed. In some circles, it became a fad to have a therapist and there was something wrong with you if you didn’t.

It’s a new day. There are many resources available that offer guidance through past and present traumas – if allowed. So many people are living in the throws of family, social, political, therapeutic, mental and emotional traumas; which are often compounded with depression, withdrawal and more.

Under the Health and Happiness tab on the menu, look forward to insights from Dr. Ron Brown a local Psychologist, PhD.
