Knoxville – Yasha Yvette Tate, 32, born September 19, 1986 gained her wings Monday August 5, 2019 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She attended West High school and attended Pellissippi State Community College with an inspiring desire to be an RN.
Yasha was preceded in death by great-grandparents Roy and Odessa Johnson and Willie and Fannie Mae Tate; grandfather; “Papaw” Simon Woods; uncle Robert Johnson; cousins Anthony Cash, Jr., Andrew Howell and TaRoyce McCormick; devoted family friend, Joyce Moore.
Survivors, daughter, Artiya Dixon and Cejoya Tate; mother Celester Tate; father Leon Welch; grandparents Martha Tate and George (Emma) Tate siblings Kenya Tate, Ieshia Scranton, Jamaziah Howell, William Byrd, Nichole Tillery and Heather Taylor; aunts/uncles; Kimberly Tate, Latasha(Dexter) McMillan, Geocises Tate, Wilson (Annie) Johnson, Sheila (Peanut) Upton, James and Sean Welch; nieces/nephews Adrian Jr., Kaleb, Raymond and Cerenity Thomas, Armani Scranton, Kayden George Tate, Anthony Cook, William Jr., Terrance and Quintin Byrd; cousins; Jeffrey and Jamerica Smith, Joseph McDowell, Roycises Malone, Lamartay, Deauntay and Meliche Tate, Tydexstine, Martha, Mydestine and Justus McMillan, Marcus, Aubrey, Malachi and Tylessa Johnson; Devoted friends Arthur “Booger” Dixon, Ebony Freeman; extended family Rhonda Thompkins. Family will receive friends, 12-1 p.m., Saturday at Payne Ave. Baptist Church; funeral service, 1 p.m., Pastor James Fine, Officiating. Interment, Mount Olive Cemetery.
