Knoxville – Verenda A. Davis, 69, went home to her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, August 7, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Devoted member of Hemingway Memorial AME Church in District Heights, MD and after moving to Knoxville, she attended Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
Verenda was a 1967 graduate of East High School.
She was a seamstress by trade and designed her own clothing line, Verenda’s Unlimited.
Preceded in death by husband, Franklin Davis; parents, Joe and Elizabeth Tate; sister, Elizabeth Dillingham, and grandson, Darian LeBlanc, Jr.
Survived by children, Terri (Darian, Sr.) LeBlanc, Charles (Irene) Wade, Jr., and Kristen Wade; siblings Betty Beal, Clarence (Corliss) Tate, Sr., and Claryce King; step-mother, Lillie Tate; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; special friends, Emma Yancy, Pat Netherland, Vanessa Glenn, Connie Thomas, and Charles Maldon; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Family will receive friends, 11:30-12:30 p.m., Thursday at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church; funeral service, 12:30 p.m., Rev. Dr. Elston Mclean, Presiding, Rev. Charlie McNutt, Eulogist. Interment, East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery ( John Sevier.)
