The Stand For Rural Healthcare Tour will visit communities across Tennessee during the month of August. Citizens affected by hospital closures are encouraged to attend and share. This is a non-partisan effort.
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) July 16, 2019 — Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini today announced the launch of the Stand For Rural Healthcare Tour, which will visit communities around the state that have been most affected by Tennessee’s healthcare crisis. During the tour slated for the month of August, Mancini and representatives of the TNDP will meet with, and amplify the stories of, families who fall in the coverage gap or have lost access to nearby primary or emergency care as a result of a hospital closure.
The statewide tour will kick-off in Coffee County on Saturday, August 3 with a press conference and community healthcare round table featuring local leaders, healthcare experts, and affected families.
Citizens of Coffee and surrounding counties, regardless of political affiliation, are highly encouraged to attend, share their concerns, and discuss real solutions to what is the greatest threat facing rural Tennessean’s way of life.
Kickoff of Stand For Rural Healthcare Tour, Coffee County, Saturday, August 3, 2019. A Press Conference: will be at 12 p.m. (CT) at the site of the United Regional Medical Center at 1001 McArthur St, Manchester, TN 37355. Immediately followed by a Community Healthcare Round table at 1:30 p.m. (Central time) at the Coffee County Administrative Plaza at 1327 McArthur St #1.
