Rita was very active with the senior citizen’s organization in Brooklyn. She really enjoyed their activities. Rita loved her family very much and expressed her love in many ways. She was a loving caretaker to several members of her family during most of her adult life; to both parents, a brother, her spouse and
her sister until their deaths. She was a very independent woman, strong-willed, outspoken, funny and feisty. The staff at Fairpark affectionately called her a “little spitfire.”
Karla and family extends special thank-yous to her caretaker, great-great niece Serita Pye, Doris McNear, Deretha Hill, Donita Simmons, and Melinda Payne. “Without you ladies, I couldn’t have done it.” Also to the staff at Fairpark (Concordia) Nursing Facility.
