Join us for Tomato Jam 2019!

Tickets are on sale now for our 3rd annual Tomato Jam: a drinks competition featuring Knoxville’s best bartenders and East Tennessee’s finest tomatoes! This fundraiser for Nourish Knoxville challenges local bartenders to create a cocktail using local tomatoes and compete for the titles of Audience Favorite and Judges’ Favorite. Don’t miss this unique event, August 4th at the Mill and Mine, 12:30-3pm.

Corn & Tomato Day at the New Harvest Farmers’ Market

Join us at the New Harvest Farmers’ Market for the 4th annual Corn & Tomato Day on Thursday, July 25, from 3 – 6pm at New Harvest Park with Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs ringing the opening bell.

This FREE, family-friendly event will feature a kids’ zone with crafts and games, youth corn eating competition (4pm in the Picnic Pavilion), Cornbread Cook-off, Tomato Tasting, corn & tomato education, giveaways, and more!

In addition to the free programming, the New Harvest Farmers’ Market will also have a wide variety of vendors with corn and tomato products for purchase including roasted corn from Huff Farms! Other locally grown, raised, and produced products such as fruits, meats, eggs, vegetables, pastries, soaps, and more will also be available.

PoP Club

Did you know Nourish hosts Power of Produce Club field trips at Wednesday Market Square Farmers’ Markets and Thursday New Harvest Farmers’ Markets? We loved hosting field trips with Beardsley Farm Camp (pictured above), Shora Foundation, Our Place Art, & Norwood Elementary this June! Kids can do a Q&A with a farmer from the market, try fruits & veggies, do educational activities, get PoP Bucks, and shop the market. If you are interested in scheduling a PoP Club field trip, reach out to volunteer@nourishknoxville.org.

Double Up Food Bucks

Nourish Knoxville is pleased to provide Double Up Food Bucks at Knox County farmers’ markets for 2019! When SNAP customers spend their SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) at the participating farmers’ markets, they receive up to $20 per day in tokens to spend on free fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP doubling gives more fresh food to low-income consumers, while also providing farmers with additional income: win/win!

Double Up Food Bucks is part of the national nonprofit Fair Food Network, with funding provided by local sponsors and donors.
