County Mayor’s 1st Budget Reveal, Public Meetings Scheduled
County Budget Presentation, Public Meetings Planned
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs will present his Fiscal Year 2020 budget proposal to the Knox County Commission at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1. The presentation will take place in the Central High School Auditorium (5321 Jacksboro Pike). Those unable to attend the presentation will be able to view it live on CTV Channel 12 or on both the Mayor’s and the Knox County Government Facebook pages later in the day.
Mayor Jacobs will be available to meet with media immediately following the address.
In the days following the budget address, Mayor Jacobs will host a series of public meetings to allow constituents to ask questions and learn about the budget. The meeting times and locations are outlined below.
Thursday, May 2
- 12:30 p.m. at South Knoxville Senior Center (6729 Martel Lane)
- 1:30 p.m. at Carter Senior Center (9036 Asheville Highway)
- 2:30 p.m. at Corryton Senior Center (9331 Davis Drive)
- 3:30 p.m. at New Harvest Park Center (4775 New Harvest Lane)
- 4:30 p.m. at Lonsdale Elementary School (1317 Louisiana Avenue)
Friday, May 3
- 9:30 a.m. at the Farragut Library (417 N. Campbell Station Road)
- 10:30 a.m. at the Bearden Library (100 Golf Club Road)
Tuesday, May 7
- 2 p.m. at Karns Senior Center (8042 Oak Ridge Highway)
- 3 p.m. at the Powell Library (330 W. Emory Road)
Mayor Jacobs will also host his weekly Eat and Greet at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3 at Gondolier Italian Restaurant and Pizza on Cedar Bluff (1063 N. Cedar Bluff Road).
