SWOPERA: A Spoken Word Opera created by The Carpetbag Theatre, Inc. 7:30 pm, Thurs, Fri, Sat. April 11-13 and 4 pm, Sunday, April 14. Ula Love Doughty Carousel Theatre, UT Campus. The Carpetbag Theatre’s 50th-anniversary celebration. Swopera tells a contemporary story of gentrification, one family’s efforts to save their business. Rossini Festival Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10 AM – 10 pm, Knoxville Opera’s 18th annual Rossini Festival International Street Fair, Sat, April 13, 10am to 9pm in Downtown Knoxville. A European-style pedestrian street mall featuring 100 local prominent artisans to shop from, amazing cuisine from dozens of food vendors, eleven(11) consecutive hours of live entertainment (opera, jazz, ethnic music, gospel, modern and ethnic dance, ballet, vocal and instrumental ensembles), including 45 Live Performances, 750 performers, and four sound stages.
