WATE-6 Telethon On the Side of ProjectGRAD Students

In addition to the telethon, News Anchor Lori Tucker and Meteorologist Matt Hinkin presented $1,000 to ProjectGRAD on behalf of the staff and management of WATE-6.

(KNOXVILLE, TN) The 2nd Annual ProjectGRAD telethon is today, Thursday, March 28, 2019. WATE-6 On-Your-Side will be live, on-air through most of the day raising funds to purchase laptops for ProjectGRAD 2019 graduates of Austin-East and Fulton High Schools.

Encourage your boss, co-workers, friends, and your rich uncle to call-in and donate between the hours of 6 am-6 pm today!

Last year’s inaugural on-air telethon raised over $43,800 – enough to gift each of the 99 ProjectGRAD graduates (enrolled in continue education) with a laptop computer. The students, their parents, and guests were overjoyed with the presentment.

The idea of a telethon was spearheaded by WATE-6 News Anchor Lori Tucker. An idea that Coby Cooper, Vice-President, and General Manager of WATE-6 and the staff whole-heartedly supported.
