(Knoxville, TN) Gus F. Termon, Jr, age 75, departed this life, November 21, 2018 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Hazel Termon, and 6 siblings: Willie A., Shirley, Barbara, Vivian, and Nancy Earnest, and Carrie Arnold.
Gus was one of ten children. He was born and raised in Knoxville and a graduated in the Austin High School Class of 1961.

Gus mastered the craft of repairing shoes and his skills were well known throughout the Knoxville area. He taught the craft of repairing shoes at State Area Vocational School in Knoxville. He was later employed at Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) where he was a vocational instructor in Shoe Repair/Leather Craft. He was the Boy’s Head Track Coach from 1982-1994, whose team broke and set many track records during his coaching career. In 1991, he coached the 800 Meter Relay TSSAA State Champions. In 1992, he won the National Deaf Prep Track Coach of the Year Award. He retired in 2007 after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Mary P. Termon; son Gus (Carissa) Termon III; daughters Karon (Charles) Billingsley, and Sharon (Harjinder) Termon; nephew Kenneth Termon (whom he raised); grandsons Brandon Termon, Desmond Billingsley, Nygel Termon, Noah Termon, Nicolas Termon; great-granddaughter Nia Michelle Termon; sisters Margaret Fagan, Eloise Patton, and Kathy Roxberry; devoted friends Wilbur Burris, Charles Bales, Danny Lovely, Mr. A. B. Coleman and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.The family will receive friends, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, November 30, at Mt.
